Based in the beautiful Channel Island of Jersey, Pastella Ceramics Ltd. was first incorporated in 1978, initially trading from shared premises at Douez House in Bagot. Pastella`s initial business was selling ceramic wall and floor tiles to trade customers only, it wasn't until we moved to our current premises at Rue A la Dame, Five Oaks that the company began to realise some of its potential.

The company operated from a combined warehouse and showroom, of 1,500 sq. feet. Pastella stocked a range of ceramic wall, floor and mosaic tiles. These were imported from Italy, Spain, Portugal and the Far East but again these were only available to trade account customers only.

Pastella`s initial break through came in 1986 when we were granted a full retail licence to trade from the Rue A La Dame premises, this combined with the already established trade accounts began to project the business forward very quickly. As the business began growing it was decided to retain any profits within the company to allow for expansion of the showroom and to further develop product ranges.

This decision proved to be crucial when the opportunity arose to secure some very exciting distribution agencies.

The first of these in 1997 was the distribution for the Channel Islands of Porcelanosa and Venis. Both Spanish factories are world leaders in the manufacture of ceramic tiles and are renowned for their high quality, design and innovative technology. It was at this point that we decided to embark on a very extensive modernisation programme.

The programme entailed the complete refurbishment of the Rue A La Dame premises and the re-location of the warehouse. From 1,500 sq. feet the retail showroom became 4,700 sq.feet, incorporating all the new and exciting ranges of ceramic wall and floor tiles.

The second phase was to introduce bathroom settings to compliment the tiles and this was done by acquiring such top brands as Sottini, Keramag, Imperial, C.P. Hart and System Pool with their whirlpool, hydro-massage baths and steam cabins. We now have twenty five fully dressed displays on show for you to view at your leisure.

The third phase was to incorporate a new and exciting range of kitchens; this was quickly achieved with high profile names including Sie-Matic, Mark Wilkinson, Arthur Bonnet, Omega, Sheraton and English Rose. We currently show twelve large kitchen displays within the showroom all beautifully accessorised and tiled, enough to fire any ones imagination. The final stage of our development was to re-locate the warehouse.

We acquired a 3,500 sq. feet warehouse at Trinity which now houses up to ?1,000,000.00 worth of tile stock. Our collection includes ceramic wall and floor tiles, terracotta, slate, natural marble, limestone, flagstones and paving. We estimate that over 90% of all tiles on display in our showroom are available from stock.
